With November 2018 nearing completion another attempt at National November Writing Month bites the dust! During October I madly wrote everything I could think of, read texts on writing, set up my Scrivener, and tried to develop a plot. But alas, when November arrived the muse was no where to be found.
So as November draws to a close I’ve pressed refresh and am trying again.
I had already decided that my poor sadly neglected blog needed some attention, so although it doesn’t go towards my word count I have refreshed its look, rewritten my about page and a single short post.
A re-read of “Fire up your writing brain” by Susan Reynolds is the next step. She writes that “writing in a journal or creating a blog results in the release enough dopamine to create positive effects similar to the effect running or listening to music produces. Moral: write your blog and give your brain a rush.”
So perhaps, all is not totally lost. NaNoWriMo 2019 I am planning for you.
You are not alone in unfinished work….or in a neglected blog. I have, however, discovered that a neglected blog might be a well curated one. Too many blogs have posts for the sake of posts. I’d rather write/read less and have it all mean more.

Thanks. I sometimes feel it is taking too long for my plans to come together, but I also believe that when the time is right, all will be revealed. The time just isn’t right yet.
